So long Whitehorse
Whitehorse was a blast that provided us with many memories and a ton of laughs.
Thanks to Lisa Rawlings for her awesome hospitality and heart warming dinner Monday night.
I managed to get on my bike and venture out on the trails and cleanse the vile Toronto residue from my circulatory system. No more 8x sneeze fits.
The presentation was setup in three Schools and almost 1400 students got the chance to see it.
I highly recommend Klondike BBQ which closes mid-September for the season. We managed to taste their wares not once, not twice, but three times. (shame on those who expect a "thrice")
It is all Southbound in BC starting tomorrow. Fort Nelson, Fort St. John, Prince George, Terrace, Kamloops, Vancouver.
oh gotta go work
Cheers

Hurricane Ike and Nasa update.

So I just wanted to bring to attention what has been happening in Houston. My parents rode out the storm in North Houston. The area up there is OK a lot of major damage was on the coast and in the centre of the city. There are though a estimated 7 million people without power in the area. From my experience living there it could be weeks for some of those people to get power back. In my opinion I would rather shovel than deal with hurricanes ever again.

NASA update
NASA's Mission Control at Johnson Space Center sustained roof damage from high winds during Hurricane Ike, the space agency said Saturday.
A rideout team operating the control center during the storm was able to protect computers and other critical equipment before they could be damaged, said space agency spokesman John Ira Petty.
NASA closed the space center at midday Thursday and opened a backup control center at a hotel in the Austin area to make sure it could watch over the three-man American-Russian crew aboard the international space station.
The backup control facility is communicating with the station through NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. The Huntsville installation serves as the regular control center for scientific activities aboard the orbital outpost. The arrangement has worked smoothly, Petty said.
In addition to the Mission Control damage, NASA said, Ike caused roof damage to a hangar at Ellington Field that houses NASA aircraft. NASA flew most of the nearly 50 aircraft that astronauts use for training to El Paso before the storm. The nine that remained at Ellington are not believed to have been damaged, Petty said.
NASA had feared that a storm surge from Galveston Bay would flood some buildings on the 1,600-acre Space Center. Its southeast boundary is near Clear Lake, which is connected to Galveston Bay. However, the water did not rise that high.
Petty said inspections continued Saturday and found damage to roofs, trees and some utility poles. Johnson Space Center lost power but used generators to provide critical installations.
The space agency has not decided when the center will reopen for its 16,500-person work force, but it may be several days before inspectors complete a thorough safety investigation, Petty said.

So a few days ago we rode up to Dawson for our fist school and our fist show. Dawson is a interesting town, we arrived with the sence that tourist season left about a month ago and it showed. The drive up was amazing it was seven hours of bright sun and yellow aspen trees. Fall has defiantly arrived in the Yukon. Ryan and I have been joking that at some point we drove completely thourugh fall. and it is every bit true. The school was great very friendly and very excited for us to be there. It was alos my first show as well and now I can finally put everything into context. We were only in town a total of about 28 hours. It was kinda a smash and grab for the tourist side of us, so we took in as much as possible.
Now we are back in Whitehorse and enjoying a nice week or so of being in the same hotel and the same town. More to come about Whitehorse.

Check 1, 2, sibilance, hey hey, 1, 2.
6034 km to Dawson !
So we have now been on the road for 1 week. There have been entirely too many places and things seen to go into every story.
I am constantly reminded and amazed at the beauty of this country. I have been to BC many times and have driven through rogers pass through the southern Canadian rockies but I have never been this far north. I feel like its a Canadians little secret up here. There are no tourist not crowds, just hard working locals and Amazing beauty.
I am writing now from Whitehorse Yukon. We have a nice day and ahalf here after 7 days of solid driving. The last 2 days were espicaly difficult comming up the Alaska Highway through the mountains. I don't want to go to crazy into detales because well i'm not a writer. I'm alot more of a visual person. So here are 2 galleries you can look through
